If Russia holds new mobilization drive we will see even more incapable soldiers – Colonel Grant
If they recruit in large numbers again, we will see even more unskilled people being used to fill the gaps created by the advancing Ukrainian Armed Forces
Retired British Army colonel, military expert Glen Grant stated this on Espreso.
“The newly enlisted Russian soldiers have inadequate training. However, this doesn't mean they lack intelligence, which becomes a problem. If the Russian army starts recruiting more middle-class individuals, like businessmen, they may be smarter and fight better than the first few waves of alcoholics. But these individuals will also possess better decision-making abilities and won't be satisfied with being treated as expendable by their leaders,” he said.
Grant pointed out that this approach could have negative consequences for Russia.
“Putin talks about adding another 500,000 soldiers, but how will they be trained and equipped? In recent months, soldiers have been sent to the front without proper weapons, food, or military training. Therefore, if they recruit a large number of people again, we will witness even more unskilled individuals who will fill the gaps created by the advancing Ukrainian Armed Forces, making the situation worse,” concluded the colonel.
