Trump calls Zelenskyy “modestly successful comedian”, “dictator without elections”

This is stated in his post on the social media platform Truth Social.

“A modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, convinced the United States of America to spend $350 billion to enter a war that cannot be won, should never have started, but a war that he, without the U.S. and 'TRUMP' will never be able to end,” the U.S. president wrote.

In his view, this war is much more important for Europe than for the United States, as the U.S. is separated from Ukraine and Russia by an entire ocean. 

“He (Zelenskyy - ed.) refuses to hold elections, has very low approval ratings in Ukrainian polls, and the only thing he’s been good at is playing Biden ‘like a fiddle.’ A dictator without elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he won’t have a country left.” 

“I love Ukraine, but Zelensky has done a terrible job, his country is shattered, and millions have unnecessarily died.”

• On February 18, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated after negotiations between the American and Russian sides in Riyadh that ending the war in Ukraine would require compromises from all parties, but it would be wrong to define them in advance.
• At the same time, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that Russia’s negotiations with the U.S. have shown no signs that the Kremlin is willing to make concessions to end the war in Ukraine.
