Trump unaware of Zelenskyy's real ratings, says political scientist

 He made this statement in a comment to Espreso correspondent Kateryna Halko.

According to him, Trump has no facts to rely on when speaking about Zelenskyy's ratings. Those who present such figures to the U.S. president are influenced by Russian propaganda, believes the political scientist.

Haran pointed out that since the start of the full-scale war, there had been an agreement among sociologists not to publish electoral ratings so as not to stir up Ukrainian society.

"Unfortunately, at the end of last year, this agreement was violated. But still, the most influential, let's say, and respectable sociological centers agreed that we can publish. What is publicly available are the popularity ratings of politicians," Haran explained.

He said that when asked whether Ukrainians trust the president, the predominant answer is "yes."

"And, of course, this absolutely contradicts all these fictitious figures presented by Trump," emphasized the political scientist.

Commenting on the U.S. call to hold elections in Ukraine, Haran noted that, for example, during World War II, neither Great Britain nor any other European country held elections. The political scientist emphasized that the notion of holding elections during wartime is being promoted by Russia, which calls the Ukrainian government illegitimate.

"Unfortunately, we see that in the United States, there are people who absolutely do not understand this and who have simply, excuse me, swallowed the Russian bait," the expert concluded.
