Giving Russia time is most dangerous for Ukraine — UK Colonel Grant
The most dangerous thing for Ukraine to do now is to give Russian troops time, since they will use it to bolster their capabilities
UK colonel Glen Grant shared it on Espreso.
“At the onset of the war, the human resources of the regular army of the Russian Federation were far from satisfactory. However, it appears that they have been learning from their experiences and making improvements. While conscripts and others are still being used as cannon fodder, the soldiers in the regular army are consistently advancing. In fact, in certain areas, they seem to be learning and adapting faster than the Ukrainian troops, which is a cause for concern,” he noted.
Glen Grant pointed out that due to a lack of weapons and outdated equipment, many Russians are still using rifles from the First World War. Nevertheless, even with outdated firearms, they can still pose a significant threat. He also highlighted that the Russian Federation is facing a shortage of skilled specialists in tank and armored vehicle operations, causing issues in that regard.
“To prevent the Russians from improving their capabilities, Ukraine must maintain pressure on them. lt is crucial not to give Russia any breathing space as they become more formidable with time. It is imperative to keep them in a vice grip from the counteroffensive until the end of the war. Despite having abundant resources such as equipment and personnel, they lack competent commanders and essential equipment like radios and night sights. However, it's important to acknowledge that there are also volunteers in Russia who support their cause, similar to the Ukrainian situation, providing necessary supplies for the Russian army”, the Colonel said, emphasizing that denying them time is of utmost importance.
