France condemns Russia’s deliberate strikes on Ukraine’s residential buildings
France condemned Russian missile strikes on Uman, Dnipro, Kyiv and Ukrainka, emphasizing that Russia deliberately targeted residential buildings
This is announced in a statement on the website of the French Foreign Ministry.
"France strongly condemns the new strikes carried out by Russia last night on the territory of Ukraine, in particular in Cherkasy, Dnipro and Kyiv regions. These strikes again deliberately targeted residential buildings and caused civilian casualties, including children, especially in Uman, where early reports indicate particularly heavy casualties," the French Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry emphasized that such strikes constitute war crimes and indicate Russia's desire to escalate the war.
"Such attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and civilians underscore Russia's clear desire to continue to escalate its aggressive war in Ukraine. As the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Catherine Colonna, has repeatedly stated, these unacceptable actions constitute war crimes and cannot go unpunished. France will continue to support the Ukrainian courts and the International Criminal Court to fight impunity for such crimes, and will continue its military and civilian support to strengthen Ukraine's resilience as long as necessary," the French Foreign Ministry emphasized.
