Finnish Prime Minister Orpo promises ongoing support for Ukraine, plans increased ammunition production
In his New Year's message, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo assured continued backing for Ukraine, emphasizing his country's commitment

"Russia's aggressive war has persisted for nearly two years, reshaping Europe's security landscape. Ukrainians have valiantly defended their state, European values, and the West. Finland's steadfast support for Ukraine endures. Our national decisions, including boosting heavy ammunition production, enable sustained assistance to Ukraine while enhancing our own defense capabilities," stated Orpo.
The Finnish leader highlighted active collaboration within the EU to ensure Europe's unity with Ukraine.
"The initiation of talks for Ukraine's EU membership signals hope for Ukrainians, affirming their place in the European family. European nations commit to long-term support for Ukraine," Orpo affirmed.
Orpo also recalled Finland's NATO membership in April, positioning it as a move to fortify national security after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
