EU assistance to civilian Ukrainians since February amounts to €485 million
During the Russian-Ukrainian full-scale war, the European Union has already allocated 485 million euros to support civilians affected by the fighting
This was stated by the head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas, Ukrinform reported.
Matti Maasikas claimed among other things, this assistance provides for the restoration and overhaul of schools and shelters, temporary centers/reception centers, provision of kits for emergency repair of shelters, provision of emergency items for the winter period, as well as funds to cover heating costs and energy needs.
He added that large volumes of equipment for the restoration of energy infrastructure and more than 800 powerful generators had been transferred to Ukraine through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
In addition, the EU has provided more than 77 tons of in-kind humanitarian aid with an estimated value of almost 490 million euros. It was transferred to Ukraine directly from EU member states and partners through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
