Ukrainian Defence Intelligence downs Russian Su-30SM aircraft over Black Sea: Video
During an operation in the Black Sea, Ukrainian intelligence special forces destroyed a Russian Su-30SM combat aircraft belonging to the Russian 43rd Separate Naval Aviation Regiment
Ukraine's intelligence (known by the acronym HUR) reported the information.
According to the intelligence agency, the fighter jet belonged to the 43rd Separate Naval Aviation Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces, based at the Saki airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea.
“The invaders lost contact with their warplane on September 11, 2024, at about 5 a.m. Approximately three hours later, the Russians launched a search and rescue operation involving an An-26 aircraft, as well as Mi-8 and Ka-27 helicopters,” the statement said.
Later, Russian soldiers reported to their command about a distinctive aviation fuel stain found in the sea, 70 kilometers northwest of Cape Tarkhankut. Shortly afterward, they discovered the wreckage of a destroyed Su-30SM.
Intelligence sources say that the cost of such an aircraft is approximately $50 million.-
Over the past 24 hours, the occupying Russian army lost 1,270 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. The Ukrainian defense forces destroyed a Russian aircraft and 11 tanks.
