In Russia, middle school student shoots two children and commits suicide

It is noted that the shooting took place in gymnasium No. 5. The schoolgirl carried a firearm and fired several times. The eighth-grader entered the classroom and almost immediately started shooting.

The city administration claimed that five people were injured and two more died as a result of the shooting. In addition, it is known that the student who opened fire committed suicide. One child is in an extremely serious condition in intensive care.

Later, it was reported that the administration of Bryansk deleted a message on its Telegram channel with information about the number of dead and injured during the shooting at gymnasium No. 5. 

State Duma deputy Alexander Khinstein said that the hunting weapon used by the eighth-grader was registered to the girl's father. Later, the student's father was detained and taken for interrogation by investigators.

The Russian law enforcement agencies also stated that the metal detector frame in the school was disconnected and did not work. At the same time, according to the source, no outsiders could enter the gymnasium.
