Conversation about world order that Russia will be forced to accept is underway in Saudi Arabia - political scientist
Political analyst Oleh Saakyan believes that the summit to discuss the Ukrainian Peace Formula in Saudi Arabia cannot include negotiations with Russia
He said this on Espreso TV.
"We need to understand that the Ukrainian Peace Formula, the summit being prepared on its basis, various consultations and formats are not about negotiations with Russia. The Peace Formula starts with the issue of nuclear, energy and environmental safety. There are 10 points in total. If we take the first three points of the Peace Formula, they are not resolved at all within the framework of the Russian-Ukrainian dialogue. Even if Russia were to declare its readiness for a constructive dialogue and agree to withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine, it would not solve anything. They would still have set a precedent of a nuclear power threatening a non-nuclear power," he explained.
The political analyst believes that the summit in Saudi Arabia is about global security.
"The Ukrainian Peace Formula is about the weaknesses in the global security system and the global conglomerate of law. These weaknesses were exploited by Russia, and the world failed to stop it. Why couldn't the world even respond adequately? These are the questions that Ukraine is asking and uniting all these countries around it. Therefore, Russia cannot be there and no one will talk to it. In fact, in Saudi Arabia, they are talking about a world in which Russia will have to accept all these rules. And the fact that they agreed on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the UN Charter is already a breakthrough story," he added.
