China updates production, stops making Maviс 3 and Maviс 3 Combo drones used by Ukrainian army
Volunteer Olha Teslyak said that now the military must learn to fly drones again, because now they have a completely different, specific type
Olha Teslyak told about this in the War and Volunteers program, hosted by the journalist of Espreso.
"Most of the units I supervise have been trained or are currently undergoing training on FPV drones. This is a new type of drone," says Olha Teslyak. - "The Chinese company DJI, which produces the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 combo drones, has stopped production. So it is extremely difficult to find these "birds'' in Europe. We are pulling out the last ones that are left somewhere in some countries. These new Mavic drones are harder to flash. There are certain specifics of the work. It has not been announced that China is fully cooperating with Russia, but we feel it. For some reason, Ukraine cannot directly purchase these drones from the Chinese, while Russia somehow does so in large quantities. Fortunately, we have started to manufacture FPV drones, which are a little cheaper than Mavic. But they cannot be compared. Because they are different types of drones. It's like a Zhiguli and a Mercedes. They are both cars, but they have different specifics."
Now the military, who had learnt to work with Mavic, have to relearn how to use another newer type.
"The Mavic we bought was connected to a tablet and each pilot had a remote control. FPV drone translates to first-person view. That is, the pilot puts on special glasses and flies as if in 3D space. Therefore, the pilots of such drones must have a different vestibular system. Not everyone can fly this drone. They are faster and more manoeuvrable. That's why the military must undergo completely different training."
