UK intelligence reveals to what frontline parts Russia moves new units
Russia has relocated units of the new 25th Combined Arms Army to the Luhansk region. They are likely to be used to restore unused reserve forces at the front
The UK Ministry of Defence reports.
It is noted that in August 2023, the recruitment adverts for 25 CAA claimed it would only deploy to the combat zone in Ukraine from December 2023.
Instead, the units were sent to the front earlier: "Russia continues to grapple with an over-stretched force along the front, and Ukraine continues its counter-offensive on three different axes."
However, according to intelligence, there is a possibility that Russia will attempt to use parts of the 25th Combined Arms Army to regenerate uncommitted reserve forces in the theatre to provide commanders with more operational flexibility.
