Major Maksym Morozov, officer with the Freedom Legion, shared information about the situation near Avdiivka. The Defense Forces are fighting in the industrial zone, but the situation is critical

He said this on Espreso TV.

"The coke plant is under a lot of pressure, but the situation is stable, although it is difficult. The only success of the Russian forces in this area was a few weeks ago, when they reached the fence and were successfully eliminated. Since then, the enemy has not had any successes or even hints, it depends, of course, on our Defense Forces. That's why the coke plant is fully under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of course, it is shelled and subjected to air strikes, it is constantly under fire from MLRS, but the plant is 100% under our control," the military said.

Morozov emphasized that the industrial zone near Avdiivka Coke remains the most critical point. The enemy is launching massive air and artillery attacks, and the buildings are turning into construction debris.

"It's very difficult to take any defensive actions based on the temperature, which is falling. Heavy fighting is going on now, but everyone is prepared for it to become a gray zone, but it is now under control, there is fighting, but the Defense Forces are preparing for the worst," the Interior Ministry major emphasized and added that the industrial zone is the gateway to Avdiivka and therefore a rather important facility.

  • In November, Andriy Shyshuk, a soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, claimed that the security guards of the Avdiivka Coke Plant were obstructing the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
  • The Ukrainian military advanced east of the railroad tracks near the Avdiivka Coke Plant and forced the enemy to withdraw from two positions, the Institute for War Studies wrote.
