“Today, investigators and prosecutors are investigating more than 13,500 war crimes In the Kharkiv region. In most cases, about 99 percent, these are crimes of violation of the laws and customs of war by the military of the aggressor country. The Kharkiv region now ranks second after the Donetsk one in terms of such indicators,” Oleksandr Filchakov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, said.
According to the prosecutor, law enforcement officers found 23 torture chambers where Russians tortured more than 100 civilians. In particular, he added that 1,007 facts of forced deportation of civilians have been established. In addition, 561 Ukrainian children were taken from the Kharkiv region to the temporarily occupied territories or Russia.
