"According to the UN charter": Putin finds new justification for war against Ukraine
Russian Presiden Vladimir Putin says the Russian Federation‘s a full-scale invasion of Ukraine is based on the UN charter.
This is reported by Russian mass media.
According to Putin, the decision to launch a war against Ukraine, which he calls a "special military operation," was made "in full compliance with the UN charter."
"The purpose of this operation is clearly defined - it is to ensure the security of Russia and our citizens, to protect the people of Donbas from genocide," Putin said.
He accused the U.S. of prolonging the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
"The situation in Ukraine shows that the United States is trying to prolong this conflict. In order to maintain its hegemony in the world, the United States prepared the fate of the people of Ukraine as cannon fodder, implemented the "anti-Russia" project, pumped and continues to pump the Kyiv "regime" with weapons, including including difficult ones," Putin said at a conference on international security in Moscow.
