About 200 civilians, 20 Ukrainian soldiers: 1st bodies are exhumed at Lyman mass burials site
In Lyman, invading Russian forces buried civilians, including children, in separate graves, and Ukrainian soldiers in a 40-meter-long trench

Ukrainian law enforcement officers received information about a mass burial in Lyman from local residents. Civilians were buried in separate graves. Among the dead is also a family with two small children. The Ukrainian soldiers were buried in a trench 40 meters long.
According to the witness, he buried about 20 Ukrainian defenders there on the orders of the Russian forces.
Some graves have plaques with the names of the deceased, and others are nameless. However, in each case, the police take biological samples and order an examination to identify the deceased and determine the cause of their death. The work is complicated by the fact that most of the bodies are in a state of change, and there is a package containing only bones.
Investigative teams and forensic experts work together with the prosecutor's office at the excavation site. 20 bodies of civilians and servicemen with Ukraine's Armed Forces have already been found.
The exhumation continues as part of the criminal proceedings opened under Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Since September 29, the police have found 87 bodies in the liberated settlements of Donetsk region, of which 38 civilians have already been identified. According to preliminary estimates, most people died from shrapnel wounds or from natural causes. There are dead people with gunshot wounds.
