50 to 100 air bombs are dropped per day: Russians destroyed about 80% of Mariupil's living quarters - the City Council
The situation in Mariupol remains critical, about a third of destroyed buildings cannot be restored.
This was reported by the Mariupol City Council in the Telegram.
"The city has been under blockade for 16 days, more than 350,000 Mariupol residents continue to hide in shelters and basements from continuous shelling by Russian forces. On average, 50 to 100 bombs are dropped on the city every day," the statement said.
The City Council notes that despite everything, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to heroically defend the city, fight for every street, repel the attacks of the outnumbering invaders.
"The destruction is enormous, according to preliminary estimates, about 80% of the city's housing is destroyed, of which almost 30% - can not be restored," - said the City Council.
Over the past two days, citizens began to travel by car to Berdiansk and then to Zaporizhzhia. In total, about 6.5 thousand cars escaped from the city. In sum, about 30,000 people left Mariupol on their own.
The dismantling of the debris after the bombing of the Drama Theater and the Neptun swimming pool building continues, despite shelling.
We remind that due to the constant shelling of Mariupol, there is almost no safe place left in the city.
