400 Ukrainian settlements are cut off from electricity due to hostilities
As of August 4, 400 settlements in Ukraine remain without power supply. New damages to power grids has been recorded in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions
Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s state power company, reported the information.
"Due to hostilities and other reasons, a total of 400 settlements remain without power. As a result of Russian shelling, there are new damages to the power grids in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions," they said, noting that repair crews start working when the security situation allows.
On Thursday, August 3, consumption saw an increase, rising by 4% compared to the previous day. This surge in consumption was attributed to the rising temperature. Consumption peaked at 9:30 pm.
"As the heat is expected to increase in the upcoming days, it becomes crucial to use power sparingly. This will reduce the load on the power system and give time for power units to complete the necessary repairs," Ukrenergo emphasized.
They urged Ukrainians to turn off air conditioners from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm and use powerful appliances in turn.

Earlier, Ukrenergo warned of a decrease in power generation due to the withdrawal of more power units for repairs. At the same time, there are no plans to cut off power supply to consumers.
