
361 Ukrainian athletes killed in Russia's war against Ukraine
Ukraine’s Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Guttsait says that 361 Ukrainian athletes and coaches have been killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Currently, over 3,000 athletes are defending the country in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Minister of Youth and Sports shared the information on Facebook.
"On the Day of Defenders, we remember and are grateful for the freedom and dignity we have. We bow our heads to those who gave their lives for our freedom. 361 Ukrainian athletes and coaches were killed in the Russian-Ukrainian war. They became angels of sport. The candle of memory will always burn in our hearts," Guttsait wrote.
In particular, he added that over 3,000 athletes and coaches are currently defending the country in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Today is the time to say "Thank you" to each and every one of them who continues to defend. Over 3,000 athletes and coaches are defending our land in the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. They continue the thousand-year tradition of the Ukrainian army."
