Ukrainian boxer Berinchyk defeats Mexican Navarrete
Ukrainian lightweight boxer Denys Berinchyk defeated Mexican Emanuel Navarette on Sunday night, May 19, in the United States and became the WBO world champion.

It is noted that Berinchyk became the world boxing champion for the first time in his career.
During the fight, the Ukrainian held short combinations and confronted the WBO featherweight champion on equal terms.
In the sixth round, Mexican Navarette landed a strong uppercut. Berinchyk responded with his own punches, several of which went well for the Ukrainian in the eighth round.
The fight ended with a gong in the 12th round. The judges gave Berinchyk a split decision: 115-113, 112-116, and 116-112.
For Berinchyk, the victory was the 19th in a row in his professional career, but it was the first time the boxer had won a split decision.
