Usyk defeats Fury, becomes undisputed world champion
On the night of Sunday, May 19, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk defeated British boxer Tyson Fury, claiming the title of undisputed world champion in the super heavyweight division

Usyk and Fury faced off in Riyadh for the undisputed world champion title in super heavyweight. Usyk held the WBO, WBA, and IBF titles, while Fury held the WBC belt.
For the first time in super heavyweight history, a fighter held all four titles simultaneously. The last undisputed heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis, who defeated Evander Holyfield in 1999 to claim the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles.
At the weigh-in, Usyk was 101.2 kg, while Fury weighed in at 118.8 kg. Fury also had a height advantage, standing 206 cm to Usyk's 191 cm.
Throughout the match, Usyk took the lead. Fury countered effectively, landing uppercuts when Usyk couldn't evade. The first half of the fight was evenly matched.
Fury took control in the seventh round, landing a strong punch that made Usyk wait for the bell.
In the ninth round, Usyk responded with a series of powerful blows, knocking Fury down, forcing the referee to start the count.
Usyk dominated the championship rounds, preventing Fury from regaining control.
The fight went the full 12 rounds, ending in a split decision victory for Usyk, with scores of 115-112, 113-114, and 114-113.
Oleksandr Usyk is now the first undisputed super heavyweight champion in 25 years.
