Russian army unsuccessfully storms Chasiv Yar with columns of tanks, IFVs for second day

Russia does not abandon its intentions to capture the town of Chasiv Yar, despite losses in manpower and military equipment. For the second day in a row, they have been using armored vehicles in the direction of Novyi settlement.

Thus, yesterday, Russian units tried to break into Ukrainian combat formation with two tanks and 21 infantry fighting vehicles, but suffered losses and retreated. Over the current day, the Russian army has already used a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles and two Tigr armored vehicles. During the battle, Ukrainian troops destroyed a tank and two infantry fighting vehicles, and Russia's forces retreated again.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia keeps trying to break through the Ukrainian troops' defenses. In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two adversary attacks in the direction of Berestove. The situation is under control. Defense forces continue assault operations in the vicinity of Synkivka and Terny, and have partial success in some areas.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian army tried to break through the Ukrainian troops' defense five times over the last day. Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks, and the battle near Klishchiivka continues.

In the Pokrovsk direction, two Russian attacks are ongoing in the vicinity of Umanske. The situation is under control. Total Russia's losses in this sector yesterday amounted to 210 Russian invaders and 23 units of weapons and military equipment.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russia's army keeps trying to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops. Four combat clashes continue in the areas of Slavne - Paraskoviivka, Slavne - Novomykhailivka, Solodke - Vodiane, and Solodke - Kostiantynivka. Ukrainian positions were not lost in the fighting.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops made one unsuccessful attempt to dislodge the units of the Defense Forces northwest of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region. The situation is under Ukrainian troops' control.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled one Russia's attack. Another combat engagement continues in the Oleshkivski Pisky - Krynky sector. Ukrainian positions were not lost.

Russia fired 4,072 times at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities

A total of 116 combat clashes took place along the entire frontline of the Russian-Ukrainian war yesterday.

According to the updated information, the Russian troops carried out 65 air strikes with the use of 91 combat aircraft, used 13 missiles against Ukraine, launched 46 attack UAVs of the Shahed and Lancet types, and fired 4,072 times at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities, including 143 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.

Over the past day, the Air Force, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 19 areas of Russian personnel concentration and one radar station.

Since the beginning of May 18, 22 combat clashes have taken place, eight of which are still ongoing. Moreover, Russian occupation forces launched one missile attack, used 25 kamikaze drones, and fired 547 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops.
