200 bodies identified in burial places of de-occupied Mykolaiv and Kherson regions
So far, 50 burial sites have been examined in the de-occupied parts of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, and about 200 bodies have already been identified
This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine on Telegram.
The teams of the Office of the Commissioner for Missing Persons have so far worked out 50 locations of probable burials, and search operations are ongoing. It is noted that the work began on the first day of de-occupation, the conditions are difficult, as the security situation is still unstable. Locals help searchers in their work.
"Our search teams work at the risk of their own lives. The whole process is very long and complicated, it can drag on for months. The teams are helped by local residents who point out mass graves that are still unknown to us. While the most mass burials were discovered in Izyum, however, there are also the graves that are less large-scale in terms of the number of dead," said Oleh Kotenko, Commissioner for Missing Persons.
It is also reported that search operations, exhumation and identification of bodies in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions are still ongoing.
