15 Russian missiles hit Zaporizhzhia
Russia has launched 15 missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia, making it the largest shelling of the city's energy infrastructure since February 24
Oleksandr Starukh, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, reports that both energy and civil facilities of the city suffered from the attack.
"According to preliminary information, despite the destruction that has occured, there are no victims. Necessary measures are being taken to prevent further damage to the infrastructure," Starukh added.
Deputy of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Council Serhiy Lyshenko also shared some information regarding the attack on Espreso TV.
"At the moment, 15 hits have been recorded. Some missiles hit Dnipro city; considering these strikes the total number is even higher than 15," he emphasized.
According to the deputy, Russian forces hit the most important energy facilities with S-300 systems. Emergency power outages are applied in the city to allow experts repair the damage.
"I think we will have to manage a few days, maybe even weeks, of power consumption restrictions because power production facilities suffered significant damage," he noted.
Serhiy Lyshenko says that the situation is severe and such a large-scale shelling of Zaporizhzhia's energy infrastructure has never happened before.
Oleksandr Starukh, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, informed on the attack on Telegram.
"The enemy is launching missile strikes. Stay in safe places. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!" writes the head.
Russia has reportedly launched half a dozen missiles.
Currently, the consequences of the enemy's attack are being established. Emergency services have arrived at the impact locations.
"We ask citizens to prepare for possible temporary power consumption restrictions during the restoration of the damaged infrastructure. Strictly follow the rules of conduct during an air alert and keep information hygiene," emphasized the head.
Secretary of the Zaporizhzia City Council Anatoliy Kurtiev clarifies that about 12 missiles hit the city.
"Damn Russian troops are attacking Zaporizhzhia. About 12 missile strikes have already been launched," Kurtiev wrote.
