79 clashes reported at front, Russian troops most active in Lyman, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove sectors

Since the start of October 31, there have been 79 combat engagements at the front. Russian forces are most active in the Lyman, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove sectors

Ukraine’s General Staff reported.

The Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to be hit by artillery fire from Russia. Border areas, including Pokrovka, Bachivsk, Shalyhine, Novenke, Leonivka, Basivka, Pavlivka, and Korenok, have come under attack.

Additionally, there were seven air strikes in the Kursk region, during which Russia dropped 13 aerial bombs.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces are currently attacking near Vovchansk, where two of their assaults have already been repelled.

In the Kupyansk sector, there have been seven attempts to storm Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Lozova, Berestove, and Vyshneve. Six firefights are still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the invading Russian army launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions around Katerynivka, Stepove, Hrekivka, Terny, and in the Serebrianskyi forest. Eight clashes have ended, while four are still active. Russia also fired unguided aerial missiles at the Serebrianskyi forest.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces attempted to improve their positions twice but faced strong resistance from Ukrainian soldiers. The occupying army also dropped four bombs near Katerynivka.

Since the start of the day, there have been ten attempts by Russian troops to push Ukrainian defenders back in the Pokrovsk sector. Fighting continues near Promin, Lysivka, and Vyshneve, while Myroliubivka and Myrnohrad were struck by guided aerial bombs.

In the Kurakhove sector, 22 hostile attacks were recorded in areas including Novoselydivka, Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Ostrovske, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka, and Yelizavetivka. In Antonivka, the Russian army has made ten assaults, with three still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, two firefights are happening near Bohoiavlenka and Trudove, where Ukrainian defenders have already repelled two attacks.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia launched two attacks toward Novodanylivka and dropped eight guided aerial bombs in Yurkivka, Tavriiske, and near Mala Tokmachka.

Additionally, two Russian attacks were successfully repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector.

  • Over the past day, the occupying Russian army lost at least 1,310 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 19 Russian tanks and shot down 84 drones.
