Explosions occur in many regions. Infrastructure in Kyiv and Kharkiv was damaged due to mass shelling

During the air alert in some regions of Ukraine, the work of air defense was reported, in Kharkiv, the Russian forces fired more than 10 missiles at critical infrastructure, and in the capital, there was damage to energy infrastructure.

On December 16, the heads of local authorities of Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, city of Kyiv and the region reported on the work of air defense. Suspilne correspondents wrote about the explosions in the city of Dnipro.

Kyiv and the region

In Kyiv, subway traffic was stopped by the missile attack. Also, there were emergency power cuts, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported on Telegram.

"There are interruptions in water supply by damage to the energy infrastructure in all districts of the capital. Specialists are working to stabilize the system. Just in case, prepare a supply of drinking and industrial water," he says.

Metro traffic on all branches has also been temporarily stopped. Underground stations work as shelters. You will be notified about the resumption of traffic later.

DTEK said that due to the missile attack, emergency blackouts are also being introduced in the capital.

As you know, the morning explosions occurred in Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi and Holosiivskyi districts.

At 09:34 am, Bucha mayor Anatoly Fedorchuk reported a Russian missile being shot down near Bucha.

In the Brovary community of Kyiv region, fragments of a Russian missile fell on private homes.

"Unfortunately, we have the wreckage of the downed Russian missile on private residential buildings on the territory of the Brovary community. People were not injured. The roofs of three buildings and fences were damaged. There are craters from enemy scrap metal in the vegetable gardens. Specialists of all emergency services are working on the site," said mayor Ihor Sapozhko.

Mykolaiv region

At 09:38, the chairman of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, wrote about the work of air defense in the Mykolaiv region. In the area, schedules of emergency shutdowns are applied.

At 11: 24 am, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, noted that after the attack, the work of boiler houses of the regional utility company "Mykolaivoblteploenergo" was suspended. Private Joint-Stock Company Mykolaiv CHPP repairs heating networks. Several streets were without heat supply. Trolleybuses and trams do not work in the Regional Center.

Zhytomyr region

At 09:37 am, the head of the Zhytomyr region, Vitaliy Bunechko, reported on the successful work of air defense in the region. Later, Korosten mayor Volodymyr Moskalenko noted in his address that there was a hit on the community's territory: all subscribers were disconnected from the power grid.  

Kharkiv and the region

The Russian forces hit the Kharkiv region with ten missiles. In addition, a massive enemy strike on the area began at 7 am when a Russian s-300 missile hit a hospital in Kupyansk. The shelling partially destroyed the hospital's infectious diseases department and a pharmacy point. Units of the State Emergency Service are working on the site.

"There were several attacks on critical infrastructure in Kharkiv and Chuhuiv districts. Now we are still investigating the consequences," said Oleh Synyehubov, chairman of the Kharkiv regional military administration.

The press secretary of Kharkivoblenergo energy distribution company Maryna Shevchenko reported that as of 09:30 am, Kharkiv was utterly de-energized.

A representative of the Kharkiv subway informed that the subway had suspended its work in the city. Also, electric transport and Metro stopped their work in Dnipro.

At 12:15, Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov addressed Kharkiv residents: "I know there is no light in your homes. There is no heating, and the water supply has been stopped. I ask you to use the Points of Invincibility. There you will be provided with food and hot drinks. You can recharge your mobile phones."

Kirovohrad region

As of 09:36 am, the pumping stations of Svitlovodsk and Oleksandria are de-energized. This was reported by the head of the enterprise "Dnipro-Kirovohrad" Oleksandr Pisnyi. He claimed that the pressure in the networks decreased, and water may only sometimes reach the upper floors of high-rise buildings.

Poltava region

Mayor Oleksandr Mamay stated Poltava was also left without electricity. 

The mayor of Kremenchuk wrote that there is no heating in the city by problems with the energy supply.
