Russian army fails to establish foothold near Kruhliakivka in Kharkiv region's Kupyansk district
Yurii Fedorenko, the commander of the Achilles battalion of Ukraine’s 92nd Brigade, reported that a fierce round-the-clock battle is ongoing near Kruhliakivka in the Kharkiv region
He shared this on Espreso TV.
“Russia considers the Kupyansk direction a priority in its efforts to occupy the Kharkiv region, particularly in establishing a buffer zone with the Luhansk region. Kupyansk remains an important city for them, so the forces concentrated here are quite substantial. The Russian army has begun taking preparatory measures, using heavy aviation with guided bombs,” Fedorenko emphasized.
According to the commander, the situation in Kupyansk is echoing what happened in Vovchansk and Avdiivka, where settlements were demolished.
“Russia has increased its strength with more infantry, light and armored vehicles, drone operators, and artillery. As a result, they have achieved some tactical success, particularly by entering the left bank of the Oskil River near Kruhliakivka,” Fedorenko explained.
He added that Russian troops have not managed to fully establish a foothold on the left bank of the Oskil River in the Kruhliakivka area.
“We are in a tough, round-the-clock battle to stop the enemy. We can talk about stabilizing the situation later if they don’t send in more troops, which could happen,” added Fedorenko.
- Andrii Besedin, the head of the Kupyansk Town Military Administration, said that all Russian weapons are reaching the central parts of Kupyansk.
