YouTube allows videos promoting Wagner PMC – Sunday Times
YouTube allows posting videos promoting Prigozhin’s private military company
This is reported by the Sunday Times.
Numerous propaganda videos glorifying the Wagner PMC, a group of mercenaries accused of war crimes in Ukraine and other countries, are being posted on social media platforms, including YouTube. These videos also encourage viewers to join the sanctioned mercenary group and contribute funds towards ammunition. Western governments have recognized PMC Wagner as a "transnational criminal organization," and its founder, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has been included in the sanctions list by Great Britain.
A representative of YouTube said that YouTube has a policy against promoting or glorifying violent extremist or criminal organizations and is committed to complying with US sanctions laws. However, despite this policy, videos with such content continue to be posted on the platform.
