Reuters reports.
Erdoğan is convinced that “more diplomacy will open the door to peace.”
"We can easily end this war if we see a Trump administration that approaches the issue with a solution-based perspective. More dialogue, diplomacy, agreement will open the door to peace, not weapons, bombs and conflict,” he said.
He also emphasized that Ankara calls for the end of Russia's war against Ukraine through negotiations, adding that “the negative impact of the conflict on the world must be mitigated.”
"We are a country that has managed to bring both sides together around the same table. We have done this many times and can do it again. This war must end now. We have focused our efforts on peace and will continue to do so," Erdoğan said.
- On September 11, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that his country supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and that the return of Crimea to Ukraine is a requirement of international law.
- On September 16, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the state supports Ukraine and believes that the end of the war should be sought in peace talks, taking into account Kyiv's interests.
- Subsequently, Erdoğan assured that Turkey would increase its support for efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine through diplomacy and dialogue based on Ukraine's territorial integrity.
