Boris Johnson urges allies to allow Ukraine to fire long-range missiles at Russian territory
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on the allies to allow the Ukrainian army to use long-range weapons in Russia
He wrote about this in his column for the Daily Mail, Ukrinform reports.
According to Johnson, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, when he launched a full-scale offensive against Ukraine, could not have imagined that one day Ukrainian tanks would cross the border into Russia and that they would capture more territory in a week than the Russians have captured in a year.
At the same time, the former British prime minister called for the rejection of "ridiculous Putinophobia" and allowing Ukrainians to use long-range missiles in the Kursk region, including American ATACMS and British Storm Shadow.
In addition, he turned to Keir Starmer and said that "it's time to stop procrastinating." He believes that Russia's tactical success in the Donetsk region was due to the fact that the Ukrainians "could not respond properly and could not defend themselves because we forced them to fight with their hands tied behind their backs.”
"The most important task now is to provide Ukrainians with the necessary permits for the weapons they already have to save time and save lives. With their heroism, Ukrainians have once again exploded the myth of Putin's invincibility. They have once again proved to their Western allies that they can and will win. We have a moral obligation to help them - and to help them quickly," Johnson emphasized.
- Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles said that Ukraine should decide for itself how to use the weapons provided to it as part of defense aid in the war with Russia.
