Why Russian agents have been appointed to positions in SBU

The President's Office decided that political expediency is more important than procedures and laws

Why did Great Britain conquer the world and now we all learn English? Despite the fact that there were much bigger nations in the world with more people and resources, more fertile land, and a better location.

I often thought about this and came to the conclusion that it was because of the rule of law. While other states developed rapidly under good rulers and declined sharply under bad ones, Great Britain was steadily growing stronger. Because it had institutions, laws, and a great will of the whole society to follow the law.

Everyone has seen the State Bureau of Investigation's video of the phone conversations between Sivkovic and Kulinich. It's unimaginable how easily and simply Russian agents were appointed to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). They simply gained the trust of the foolish Bakanov, and he appointed them.

The price of these appointments is thousands, tens of thousands of lives. And this is not an exaggeration, it is a fact. This is Kherson surrendered in a day, Mariupol surrounded, dozens of smaller towns and villages occupied because of the betrayal of the SBU top leadership.

The worst thing is that this could have been easily avoided. Because there is the Law of Ukraine 1682-VII On the Purification of Government (Lustration), adopted on September 16, 2014. The law contains Article 3, paragraph 4, which explicitly prohibits people who worked in the KGB or graduated from KGB universities from holding high positions.

“If the President's Office had simply complied with the law, the traitor Kulinich would have had no chance to leak classified information to the FSB. But the Presidential Office decided that political expediency was more important than procedures and laws. Therefore, the Office turned a blind eye to the fact that Kulinich had studied at the USSR KGB Higher School and worked for the FSB. And Zelenskyy signed the appointment of an FSB spy to the top management of the SBU”

Such a violation of the law with such devastating consequences would be impossible in the UK. In today's Ukraine, violations of laws, procedures, and regulations are the norm.

That is why the UK is one of the most powerful countries in the world, while Ukraine is struggling to survive and paying with the lives of its citizens for the unwillingness of its top leadership to abide by the law.
