White House comments on Putin's address to Federal Assembly of Russian Federation
The US administration has called the accusations of Russian leader Vladimir Putin of the West's intentions to attack Russia absurd
DW reported the information.
According to US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Vladimir Putin's accusations against the West and Ukraine of intending to attack Russia are absurd.
"No one is attacking Russia. There is a kind of absurdity in the notion that Russia is under some form of military threat from Ukraine or anyone else," Sullivan said.
According to him, Vladimir Putin personally decided to unleash the war against Ukraine and he can stop it.
"Russia stops fighting the war in Ukraine and goes home, the war ends. Ukraine stops fighting and the United States and the coalition stops helping them fight - then Ukraine disappears from the map," Sullivan said.

On February 21, Putin threatened to "expand the war" if the West provided Ukraine with long-range weapons. In addition, the Russian leader said that Russia was suspending its participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. Vladimir Putin also ordered the Russian military to prepare for nuclear weapons tests.
