What should the US do if China attacks Taiwan?

I was expecting a different answer: the US must now show that an attack by a large, even nuclear, country on its neighbor is futile, support Ukraine by supplying the necessary range and volume of military equipment (first of all, to balance the capabilities in the range of destruction, which includes MGM-140B ATACMS Block 1A missiles for the Himars MLRS and the F-16 platform), and then there will be no repetition of the same actions and no attack on Taiwan.

Most Americans now support this approach. I would like to see them heard.
