West takes orders for equipment for Ukraine's energy system - lawmaker Sovsun
The Americans and Europeans are starting to take orders for the equipment needed to restore Ukraine's energy sector, but the production time is long
Ukrainian lawmaker Inna Sovsun said this on Espreso TV.
“Yesterday, CNN published an article about the problems with the equipment for Ukraine's energy system that the United States faced due to the fact that our systems differ in some issues. I was in the US a month ago, I met with the deputy minister of energy, and we talked about the fact that there is not always a coincidence with the systems and equipment for Ukraine in the USA,” she noted.
According to Sovsun, the biggest problem is still large substations and transformers, which have no analogues in Europe.
“The West understands this and is already working on placing an order for the production of new equipment specifically for Ukrainian needs. We don't need to worry that they will give us everything they have and then the equipment will run out and they won't supply it to us. Americans and Europeans are already starting to place orders for the equipment needed to restore the Ukrainian energy sector. Unfortunately, it has a long production period, but this gives hope that the equipment will be. Even if it's later than we would like,” the lawmaker concluded.
