Russian An-72 military transport aircraft explodes near Moscow — Ukraine’s intel

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reported the information.

"On December 12, 2024, an explosion occurred at the Ostafyevo airfield in the Moscow region - the main power unit of an An-72 military transport aircraft belonging to the Russian Navy detonated," the report states.

The approximate cost of the disabled Russian aircraft is about $4.5 million.

"Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reminds - every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people will face just retribution," the intelligence officials emphasized.

• An explosion occurred near the Russian Northern Fleet base in Murmansk, where Zircon missiles are tested. The site also houses command centers and ammunition depots.
