Ukraine plans to open two new consulates in Poland
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to open two additional consular offices in the Polish cities of Rzeszow and Poznan, as well as expand its consular presence in Romania, Slovakia, Germany and France
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated this during a government Q&A session in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrinform reports.
The Foreign Minister noted that today Poland is home to the second largest Ukrainian community, both indigenous and newly arrived citizens of Ukraine.
“We are talking about 1 million people. We will strengthen our consular presence. We plan to open two additional consular offices in Rzeszow and Poznan. And we will upgrade the status of our consulate in Gdansk to the Consulate General,” said Sybiha.
He also added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to open additional consular offices in the countries where the largest number of Ukrainian citizens currently reside. In particular, these are Romania, Slovakia, Germany and France.
