191 combat clashes erupt on Russia-Ukraine frontline, Ukraine repels 60 attacks in Kursk

On December 19, 191 clashes occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Ukrainian defenders repelled 60 Russian attacks in the Kursk region and 32 in the Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report as of 08:00 a.m.

"According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched three missile strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas using four missiles, along with 65 airstrikes, dropping 112 guided bombs. In addition, Russians used 2,234 ‘kamikaze’ drones and fired about 5,000 times, including 162 times from multiple launch rocket systems," the General Staff reported.

The General Staff added that yesterday the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck nine Russian manpower and weapons concentrations, four artillery systems at firing positions, two command posts, and two other key Russian targets. 

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army did not conduct offensive actions but actively used aviation.

In the Kupyansk sector, ten Russian attacks were recorded. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks near Lozova, Zahryzove, and Kolisnykivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked 17 times, attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses near Tverdokhlibove, Zelenyi Hai, Terny, and the Serebryanka forest.

In the Siversk sector, nine attacks were repelled near Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, and Verkhnokamianske. Russian forces actively used aviation.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces attacked once near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops launched 12 attacks near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 32 Russian attacks toward Sukha Balka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Solone, Novyi Trud, Zelene, and Novovasylivka.

In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 18 attacks, with the most active fighting near Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Andriivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian troops launched 23 attacks near Uspenivka, Kostiantynopilske, Blahodatne, Neskuchne, and Novodarivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces attacked once near Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled four Russian attacks, preventing further advances into Ukrainian territory.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops did not conduct active operations over the past day.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

The operation in the Kursk region is ongoing.

"Russian aviation continues striking its own territory. Over the past day, Russian aircraft carried out six airstrikes, dropping seven guided bombs. Additionally, Russian forces conducted 472 shellings. Ukrainian defenders repelled 60 attacks," the General Staff reported.

  • The occupying Russian army lost 2,200 servicemen over the day of the war. Ukrainian Defense Forces also destroyed 8 Russian tanks and 24 armored combat vehicles.
