The president of Ukraine wrote about this in the post on Х.

“I congratulate President Trump and the American people on the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States. Today is a day of change and also a day of hope for the resolution of many problems, including global challenges,” Zelenskyy said.

He described Trump as “decisive,” and his announced policy of “‘peace through strength’” offers an opportunity to strengthen American leadership and achieve a lasting and just peace, which is a priority.

“This century is being shaped right now, and we must all work together to ensure that it is a great and successful century for democracies, not those who want us to fail,” he said.

Later in the nightly address, Zelenskyy wished success to Trump and America, expressing his readiness to cooperate for peace.

“He is a strong man. I wish success to President Trump, to the whole of America. Ukrainians are ready to work together with Americans to achieve peace — real peace. This is a chance that must be seized,” he said.

  • On Monday, January 20, the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, promised to end wars, but did not say a word about Ukraine in his inauguration address.
  • The head of the Ukrainian American House, a founding rector of American University Kyiv, Roman Sheremeta, expressed confidence U.S. President Donald Trump would not abandon Ukraine, as doing so would signal his own defeat.
