125 clashes occur at front on Jan. 19: Ukrainian forces repel 11 attacks in Toretsk sector

Since the beginning of the day, January 19, 125 clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Toretsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 Russian attacks. High Russian activity continues in the Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report as of 4:00 p.m.

"During the day, Russian forces from the territory of the Russian Federation shelled the settlements of Prohres, Romanivka, Hrabovske, and Pokrovky in Sumy region; Lemishchyne in Kharkiv region; Leonivka, Medvedivka, and Berylivka in Chernihiv region. The settlements of Oleksandrivka in Sumy region and Hremyach in Chernihiv region were attacked by unguided missiles," the General Staff reported.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces, supported by aviation, unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk twice and launched an airstrike near Vovchanski Khutory.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces attempted to advance towards Ukrainian positions seven times near Stroiivka, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, and Lozova. Four attacks were successfully repelled, and three clashes are ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, 14 clashes took place near Novoyehorivka, Nadiya, Novoserhiivka, Novosadove, Zarichne, Kolodyazi, Zelena Dolyna, Terny, and the Serebrianka forest. Seven clashes are still ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, Russian troops launched an offensive near Ivano-Dariivka and Verkhnokamyanske, both of which were successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces attacked seven times near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora, with five clashes still ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops launched 17 attacks near Toretsk, Dyliivka, and Shcherbynivka. Eleven attacks were successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders, and six clashes are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Russian army remains highly active with 62 clashes of varying intensity occurring near Zelene Pole, Oleksandropil, Vodyane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Myrolubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Shevchenko, Udachne, Uspenivka, Kotlyne, Nadiivka, Novotroitske, Novoandriivka, Slovianka, Petropavlivka, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne. Fifteen clashes are still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian forces attacked 12 times near Kostiantynopil and Velyka Novosilka, with four clashes still ongoing. They also launched an airstrike with unguided missiles on the settlement of Novopil.

In the Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovskyi sectors, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive actions.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders are repelling a Russian attack, with a total of four clashes recorded so far.

"Russia launched two guided bomb airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, and also carried out 196 artillery shellings, including five from multiple launch rocket systems," the General Staff added.

  • Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 1,580 Russian soldiers, as well as Russian equipment and weapons on the Russian-Ukrainian front.
