Trump’s team likely to follow 'Kellogg's plan,' says political analyst
Vadym Denysenko, political scientist and historian, believes that a phone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin could take place soon
He shared this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
“I don’t believe in quick negotiations or immediate decisions. However, I’m confident that in the near future there will be a phone call between Putin and Trump, where both sides will outline their positions on how they envision the path forward for a settlement. I also think there will be a call between Trump and Zelenskyy. But at this stage, there’s no talk of any rapid decisions,” Denysenko stated.
According to the political scientist, the United States currently has no alternative proposals apart from the already known Kellogg's plan. He suggested that Trump’s team would likely follow the direction outlined in this plan.
“To recap, under the ‘Kellogg's plan,’ Ukraine would not join NATO in the near future, the war would be halted along the current front line, and a buffer zone would be established. The U.S. will likely propose this framework to both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” Denysenko speculated.
- Meanwhile, on Monday, January 20, Russian leader Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow is open to dialogue with the incoming U.S. administration under President-elect Donald Trump regarding the war in Ukraine.
