“Air defense continues to be a priority, it’s something we’re going to continue to stay focused on and work as quickly as we can,” Pat Ryder said.
He added that the Pentagon has not yet signed a contract for the supply of systems to combat UAVs. However, it is expected to be finalized within a few months, after which delivery of the VAMPIRE systems will take place in mid-2023.
The company that makes the laser-guided VAMPIRE systems says it expects to deliver the weapons within nine mоnths once the contract is ready, as required by the Pentagon.
