In 2024, Ukrainian law enforcement detained 179 arsonists recruited by Russian special services through Telegram channels

Deputy Head of the National Police, Andriy Nebytov, shared this information during a meeting with the heads of operational units in eastern Ukraine.
According to Nebytov, the detainees targeted military vehicles, railway infrastructure, and state-owned enterprises with arson attacks.
Additionally, over ten months, operatives seized 4,247 firearms, uncovered 137 weapons caches, and exposed 903 cases of illegal weapons sales.
- In August, reports revealed that the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine had detained over 70 individuals involved in setting military vehicles on fire throughout the year.
