Ukraine authorized to use ATACMS missiles to strike Russia, White House confirms

White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby stated this, according to Business Insider reporter Jake Epstein.
"They (Ukrainians - ed.) are able to use ATACMS to defend themselves on an immediate-need basis and right now, understandably, that's taken place in and around Kursk. We did change the guidance and gave them guidance that they can use them (ATACMS - ed.) to strike these particular types of targets,” he said.
On the night of November 25, the Khalino airfield in the Kursk region was attacked. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff confirmed the involvement of the Defense Forces in the attacks.
- On November 17, U.S. President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to strike Russian territory with long-range missiles.
- On November 18, it was reported that Biden's decision to allow Ukraine to fire long-range ATACMS missiles deep into Russian territory only applies to the Kursk region.
- On the night of November 19, Ukraine's Armed Forces struck the arsenal of the 1046th Logistics Center near the city of Karachev, Bryansk region of the Russian Federation. According to media reports, Ukraine used ATACMS for the first time during the attack.
- Later, Reuters reported that Ukraine attacked an ammunition depot in Russia with eight ATACMS: the Russians managed to intercept two long-range missiles.
