Estonia to provide €1 million for environmental projects in Ukraine
Estonian Minister of Climate Affairs Yoko Alender says her country will allocate €1 million to support climate and environmental projects in Ukraine
ERR reported the information.
At the UN climate conference COP29, an agreement was reached in which wealthier countries pledged to allocate $300 billion annually to assist developing nations in combating climate change and implementing environmentally friendly technologies.
“We have decided that this €1 million we are allocating will be used specifically to support environmental and climate projects in Ukraine,” said Yoko Alender.
The outlet added that the climate conference also included meetings with the Ukrainian Ministry of Environment.
The Deputy Chancellor of the Estonian Ministry of Environmental Reform, Kristi Klaas, stated that they had clearly outlined the current needs of the country in order to make significant progress toward joining the European Union. This includes both the development of legislation and efforts to slow down local climate change.
