US President: Together with allies, we have transferred more than 700 tanks, thousands of armored vehicles, artillery systems and ammunition to Ukraine
US President Joe Biden says that together with more than 50 countries, they have transferred more than 700 tanks, thousands of armored vehicles, artillery systems and ammunition to Ukraine
This was announced by US President Joe Biden during a press conference.
"You are winning, you keep doing it. And you are doing from the very first moment I received intelligence reports, more than a year ago. Our focus then was on how to bring the whole world together. How to fulfill the promise I made to you - to bring the whole world together to support Ukraine, how to ensure your success. How to make sure that the whole world responds, all those successful economies, powerful, independent, democratic countries. And then the entire American people decided to help," President Biden said.
The American president emphasized that he called on more than 50 countries to help Ukraine, which provided humanitarian, economic and military assistance and imposed sanctions on Russia.
"Together we have transferred over 700 tanks, over a thousand armored combat vehicles, over a thousand artillery systems, over 2 million artillery shells, over 15 MLRS, air defense systems. All that helps to defend the country," the US President said.
Biden noted that this list does not include a new USD 2.5 billion aid package to be announced today. "There will be additional ammunition for HIMARS and artillery, additional systems that will protect the Ukrainian people from bombing."
Later this week, the US will announce new sanctions.
In addition, US President Joe Biden said that Russian President Vladimir Putin's goal is the complete destruction of Ukraine, but he will fail, and the West will support Ukraine as long as necessary.
