US Defense Secretary lists countries ready to provide Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has named the countries that are going to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 main battle tanks or have committed their support
Austin said this before the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense.
"A group of countries, including Germany, Poland, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands, are working together to provide Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine," the Pentagon chief said.
He also said that the United States, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands are jointly providing more than 90 T-72 tanks.
It should be noted that Poland has already handed over 250 T-72 tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Austin emphasized that the UK is transferring a company of Challenger main battle tanks, and "together with several countries, it is looking for sources to supply Ukraine with additional ammunition".
