170 clashes occur at front on Nov. 15: Russian army active in Pokrovsk, Kurakhove sectors - Ukraine's General Staff

170 combat clashes took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front on November 15. Russians continue to try to advance in the Donetsk region

The General Staff's report as of 08:00 on November 16 states this.

Yesterday, the Russians launched two missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using two missiles, as well as 54 air strikes, dropping 102 guided bombs. In addition, it fired over 4,700 times, 119 of which were from multiple rocket launchers.

22 settlements were hit by Russian airstrikes.

Over the past day, aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit one area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, in addition to a UAV ground station and a communications tower of the Russian invaders.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian forces stormed the Ukrainian troops' positions nine times near Vysoka Yaruha and Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, 17 of the Russian troops' attacks took place over the last day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repulsed the Russian assault near Kolisnykivka, Kopanky, and Nadiia.

The Russian aggressors attacked 16 times in the Lyman direction. They tried to break into Ukrainian defenses near Novoiehorivka, Makiivka, Terny and Torske.

Two firefights took place near Verkhnekamianske and Vyimka in the Siversk direction.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian forces attacked once in the area of Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian troops, supported by aviation, carried out nine attacks near Toretsk, Dyliivka and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian defenders stopped 38 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor towards the settlements of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Petrivka and Pustynka.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Forces fought off 35 attacks. The occupants tried to advance in the areas of Berestky, Novoselydivka, Voznesenka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymilianivka, Dalne and Antonivka.

In the Vremivka direction, the Russian troops made seven assaults on Ukrainian positions near Trudove, Rivne and Novodarivka. They actively used attack and bomber aircraft to attack in the area.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian invaders attacked once in the direction of Novoandriivka, but were unsuccessful.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian aggressors tried five times to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. They were fiercely repulsed and suffered losses.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively using artillery and aviation near Ukrainian settlements.

The operation in the Kursk region continues. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders beat back 30 Russian troops' attacks in the area. Russian aircraft continue to strike with guided aerial bombs at Ukrainian territory. As of now, 15 air strikes involving 19 guided aerial bombs have been reported.

  • As of the morning of November 16, the Russian army's losses since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine have exceeded 819,000 troops.
