Ukraine's surrender will have catastrophic consequences: politician on Russia’s next war front
Politician Mark Feygin believes that if the U.S. halts aid to Ukraine, Russia could provoke a series of conflicts with European countries, including NATO members
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
“Yes, since December 2023, Russia has occupied 2,500 square kilometers. Yes, this is a success, but it is not a decisive success. And Ukraine, at its peak in August, captured 1,200 square kilometers in the Kursk region. That is why the question cannot be formulated in this way, Ukraine has not yet lost the war. It is not as if some phase has already come, where the front has broken down, is fleeing, and the Russian army is advancing-why are they putting forward these ultimatum conditions? They are putting forward these conditions solely in the hope that the West will break down and really stop supporting Ukraine. Everything depends on the West: if the West does not do this, then everything will stop, everything will return exactly to the point where it all began, when neither Moscow can win nor Ukraine can return the territories to the 1991 borders through war. That is, we need a compromise, not surrender, and this is exactly what the issue is now, that only a compromise can satisfy the interests of Kyiv,” Feygin said.
Mark Faygin is convinced that if Donald Trump makes concessions to Putin and Ukraine is left without support, the United States will pay a very high price for it. Because Russia could start a new war in Europe.
“Another issue is Washington's position. It's impossible to predict now, but if Washington surrenders Ukraine, the costs for the Trump administration in particular will be incredible. What will they be? Perhaps the consequences will come only in four years, it could also happen. But how to persuade American society to give up on Ukraine, as they did in South Vietnam, is not going to work here, the situation is different. That was somewhere in Indo-China, and this is close by. And the consequences of Ukraine's surrender will be immediate for NATO countries, the Baltic states, and Poland. The Suwalki corridor, which we have been discussing all along, Moldova, for sure, will start with Transnistria, and from Gagauzia, some kind of march of Russian troops and tanks will go further, there may be a variety, someone else will be involved, for sure,” he added.
