Estonia to provide new aid package to Ukraine: what it includes
On November 16, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced another aid package for Ukraine, including equipment and ammunition
The Estonian Defense Ministry reports.
"Soon it will be 1,000 days since Ukraine managed to defend its freedom from an aggressor whose forces are superior. Ukraine will continue to need the help of Estonia and the free world to defend itself. This aid package was collected from the reserves of our Defense Forces, taking into account the needs of Ukraine, but in such a way that Estonia's defense capabilities are not affected," he emphasized.
The new aid package includes warships, surveillance equipment, scopes, ballistic missiles, and various types of ammunition, etc.
Pevkur also announced the upcoming annual program to support Estonian defense companies, which will provide Ukraine with the opportunity to receive assistance in the production of domestic defense industry products.
"This aid package will not be the last, and soon we will launch an annual program to support Estonian companies on a competitive basis, which will allow Ukraine to receive assistance in the production of Estonian defense industry products. This will not only support Ukraine, but also the economy and security of Estonia itself," explained the head of the Estonian Defense Ministry.
- In October, the Estonian government discussed the possibility of sending its troops to western Ukraine to perform non-combat missions. However, there is no concrete decision yet.
