Ukrainian Security Service detains Russian agent who leaked data on AFU’s offensives
SBU’s military counterintelligence exposed a Russian agent who informed the enemy about the plans of the Defense Forces combat operations in a strategically important area of the frontline
This was reported by the Ukrainian Security Service’s (SBU) Telegram channel.
The aggressor's accomplice was an official of one of the Armed Forces military units, who was recruited by the Russian secret service after the start of the full-scale invasion.
Following the instructions of the Russian occupiers, he covertly collected information on the movement of Ukrainian troops and their replenishment with equipment and ammunition.
"In addition, the traitor leaked analytical reports on the situation at the front to his Russian curators," the SBU said in a statement.
As a result of a special operation, Ukrainian Security Service officers detained the offender in an attempt to transfer data to the Russian invaders. This time, he tried to inform the enemy about the operational situation in one of the combat areas.
During the searches of the detainee's places of residence, the SBU officers found equipment and a computer that he used to communicate with the Russian occupiers.
Based on the evidence collected, the investigators served the suspect a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
"The detainee fully admitted his guilt. He is detained by the court decision without the right to be released on bail," the statement said.
